INTERVIEW WITH GIGI DATOME

A question that everyone has surely asked you: what made you decide that it was time to say enough to this sport as a player?

At 35, I was struggling to stay in a team that competes in Europe, and so I decided to stop playing on the pitch, but I'll stay within the red and white club.

You published a comic titled “il gigante del campotto” which I immediately bought after the sad announcement of your retirement and read with extreme speed and attention. It would be stupid and terribly false to deny that I loved it.

How was it born? It looked good and I liked the final result, so I posted it.

Another question that many journalists, certainly more popular than yours truly, have already asked you: who did or who were your giants in life?

The family certainly and then many other people who have helped me grow both professionally and humanly.

Last question: three words that describe the basketball player Datome, the one involved in social work, life partner and father.

Wow, this answer is difficult... So: Curious, loyal and stubborn.
